Job Title: International expert/trainer on environment and pilot actions

Objective of the role:

The NGO COSPE is considering the appointment of a qualified International Expert to be responsible for training, facilitating and supervising, on the activities of the communities implied in the Ecofriends Action.

Main tasks and Responsibilities

Under the general direction of COSPE the Expert will be required to familiarize himself/herself with all aspects of training and facilitation/supervision activities.

 

More specifically s/he will be responsible for the following:

 

Training (6 days  mission)

The training will last 5 days in total ad involve CSOs and public institutions’ staff, for a total of 15 participants on effective moderation techniques for participatory events, specific tools of the Climate Vulnerability Assessment and possible effective adaptation measures.

 

Facilitation and Supervision of the elaboration of the Local Adaptation Plans (LAPs) in 3 Pilot Communities (6/8 days mission + supervisory online work)

3 groups will be supervised in the elaboration of preliminary LAP’s, simple documents, written in Albanian, comprising feasible and effective adaptation measures identified directly by community members.

General:

  • Deliver high quality results in line with the Eco friends strategies and approach ;
  • Comply with COSPE policies and practice with respect to code of conduct, safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures;
  • To perform other responsibilities as agreed with the line management;

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Mandatory:

  • Education to University or Master level (or equivalent) on social, economic and/or scientific sectors linked to climate change, environment and development, biodiversity preservation and/or prevention of disasters;
  • Specific experience of training, with at least 3 years experience;
  • Specific experience of participatory planning on sustainable livelihoods, climate change mitigation and prevention of disasters, with at least 3 years experience;
  • Ability to work under pressure and ability to develop and work within a cross-cultural team;
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability in general co-operation projects context;
  • Good knowledge of reporting, monitoring and evaluation;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.

 

Desirable:

  • Professional experience with projects aimed at promoting gender equality;
  • Experience or knowledge of creative and cultural industries, preferably focusing on audio-visual products;
  • Working knowledge of EU reporting
