For a better health system in Tunisia
Italy is one of the main destinations of Tunisian immigration since the end of the ‘70s, because of the geographical and cultural proximity of the two Countries. That’s why it is crucial to strengthen our relationship with this Country, to facilitate dialogue among State institutions, Italian NGOs and members of the Tunisian community in Italy. COSPE’s project addresses Tunisian students and doctors, focusing on the ones connected to the infant and maternal health sector, as well as young people and women of the Tunisian community in Italy, to stop the widespread Hepatitis B outbreaks and improve the health system, which is still inefficient: in the Kasserine region, there is only one doctor every 3,226 inhabitants and a hospital bed every 1000 inhabitants. That’s why COSPE decided to intervene, through education, on the health problems of mothers and children.
With your contribution you can support the many activities of the project, like the organization of three workshops on participatory citizenship education connected to public social and health services and the training of Tunisian students and professors in Tuscany; or the organization of awareness-raising and information days in Tunisia as well as in Tuscany on the right to health for women.
